Some people who cross your path teach you something. Well Rick of Ohio, is one who I took something from. Not because of his circumstance but it’s what he said. Rick US Army Infantry proud holder of his CIB, his blue cord and the men he served with had service from 87-95. He told me that through his Army career that there were soldiers who weather where above him in rank of below him he tried to learn something about them to understand who there were. Rick said that in every situation that you encounter in life there is always a lesson to be learned. He said that one valuable lesson was to accept everyone for who there are, not to change who they are just accept them. He said we all come from different times generations and backgrounds so it key to listen to each other to determine how you can work going forward. Here we are sitting in a local restaurant as he took the 4 dollars, he had to get a bowl of soup and coffee and he’s spreading valuable lessons. Rock told me that he had been homeless for about 5 years. He told me that living on the streets is one of the hardest thing’s life can bring you however you can only go up from here.
